4 tips for unique pregnancy announcements | Denver Maternity Photography | Truth Photography LLC

Finding out you are pregnant is one of the most exciting and joyful times in most couples lives! So it is natural that we want to share our joy with our friends, family and anyone on our social media accounts who will listen! While 10 years ago sharing this news would have been as simple as telling our family in person or over the phone, now couples go all out with elaborate picture announcements. So how do you make sure your announcement is one of a kind? Here are four tips for an unforgettable pregnancy announcement.

Pick a theme

One way to make sure that your announcement is uniquely you is to have a theme centered around something you love. This could be your favorite book, movie or tv show, sport or team, or even place. What about an announcement taken at the place you or your spouse met? Where you got engaged? or even where you got married! Theme ideas are endless and can be simple or elaborate and will definitely set your announcement apart.

My family are all big comic book fans so when my youngest was born we chose a superman theme. (and yes, he is named after superman #comicbooknerd lol)  What can you do to make your photo uniquely you?

Showcase your personality

While this may sound like the same thing as the last one it is a little different. Yes choosing a theme definitely shows your personality but two people can choose the same theme and have a very different photo. So think about the feel of the photo you want. Are you are your significant other serious, or silly? Are you going to smile in the photo or do something goofy? Let your personality shine through in the photo!

Come up with a unique saying

Cute saying and rhymes are super popular on pregnancy announcements. Make your text match your theme or come up with a cute Rhyme like “Could be pink or could be blue, all we know is we are due!”

Include the whole family/get in the picture!

The best way to make sure your announcement doesn’t look like everyone elses is to be in the picture! Make sure to include the whole family, mom, dad, siblings and even pets. And while it has been done everyone loves an announcement where the soon to be big brother or sister (human or furry) is holding a “big brother” or “big sister” sign. No matter what you decide the best announcement have everyone included!
