I told myself that it wasn’t a big deal. I mean kindergarten graduation? I didn’t have a graduation when I finished kindergarten. When did this become a thing? But as I stood there watching my sons class go up one by one to receive their certificates I’ll admit I was blinking back tears.
My son in one year had learned to read and spell, to add and subtract, he had learned the days of the week and the months of the year, he learned the continents, about animals and more. All of this not in one language but in two thanks to his awesome school Global Village Academy. Ok maybe finishing kindergarten was worth celebrating. Sure it was just one of many graduations, continuations etc. and each grade will get more and more challenging, but for some kindergartners just being away from mom and dad for a full day can be a challenge!
After his little ceremony and a party with his class we headed out into the world with my new first grader. Last year we did a last day of preschool session with my son and I wanted to do the same for him this year. Since it was a very overcast day we decided not to bother waiting until sunset and headed to one of my favorite secrets spots in Westminster.
My handsome boy can sometimes be my toughest customer but he rocked this photo shoot. He showed every bit of his sometimes goofy always sweet personality. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.
He picked these flowers for me and wanted to take a picture with them. lol
And back to goofy!
He has wanted to learn violin since he was 2 so he finally got a chance to take a class this year at his school. It was a little harder than he expected but he did learn how to play twinkle twinkle!
