I am loving all of this beautiful weather we are having! Even with the rain we had a few days ago it is feeling like spring. I am so excited for more baby sessions and fine art mini sessions this spring. If you have not booked your spring mini session or mommy and me session for March or April please contact me right away to get your spot reserved. I have just a few spots left for those months and as the weather gets warmer spots start to fill up faster!
When I started my business six years ago (Wow SIX, its hard to believe its been that long!) one of the few props I started with were a couple of vintage style suitcases. Since then I have collected more suitcases. They have been used in so many sessions and have been one of my favorite props. Typically I use them for babies and children under two, and much more often for boys than for girls. I wanted to do something with them that I haven’t done before and so recently my favorite suitcases made their first trip downtown to Union Station in Denver..
My inspiration for this session started when I found a girls lace dress at a second hand store. I immediately pictured an 1930’s or 40’s themed session. When my client and friend Denine told me she would love to do a themed session with her kids I knew that her daughter Rhianna would be perfect for this. So I borrowed a vintage hat from my mother, this one actually belonged to my great grandmother, dug out some of my sons old clothes and one of my husbands hats for her son Clayton, and packed up my suitcases.
You would never know that Rhianna was a total tom boy, but she even told me she liked the dress and hat. The two of them look perfect together, like they stepped out of another era. Here are a couple of my favorites so far from their shoot. Thanks guys for letting me dress you up!
These costumes and props are available for your photo session. Contact me today if you are interested in doing a session with this theme.
