Truth Photography LLC | Why choose a sunset session? | Denver children’s photographer

Lighting is probably the most important element in a photo. Beautiful lighting can make all the difference in the look of your portraits. This is why choosing the right time for your session is so important. For this reason I do not shoot outdoors during the midday. I offer sessions at 10:00 or 10:30am year round and between 2:00-4:00pm in the winter and 5:30-8:00pm in the summer.

While I do offer morning sessions my favorite time to shoot is what photographers know as the Golden hour. Evening light will give a beautiful even lighting on your face. This light is much more flattering that bright midday light that will ruin a portrait. The hot midday sun will wash out the sky, leave harsh shadows on your faces and uneven lighting in the portraits.f74

During this last hour before sunset the sun’s light passes through more of the earths atmosphere before it reaches us. This defuses the light creating a beautiful warm glow. There was no exception to this last week when I shot this beautiful sunset session on a private property out in Arvada. f76b72b75f71f72b73f73b74f75I will be sharing more sessions soon. Want to be notified when they are posted?
